Skellefteå Buss provides bus transport services with Skellefteå municipality, Länstrafiken in Västerbotten, and the region as clients. We provide public transport in Skellefteå municipality and also offer the hockey bus, airport bus, and school transport. We are proud to create greater accessibility and an easier everyday puzzle, more job opportunities, and new fossil-free modes of transport in a place that is growing and wants to move forward.

Skellefteå Buss is one of the larger public transport companies in northern Sweden, and we have about 230 employees. Our total fleet consists of approximately 140 vehicles, and we are gradually updating them to biogas or electric buses, with the goal of being completely fossil-free by 2030. The company is 100% owned by Skellefteå Stadshus AB, which in turn is wholly owned by Skellefteå municipality.

The position of bus driver for regional traffic

As a bus driver with us, you help traveling people to travel sustainably both for work and leisure. You are responsible for providing high service to passengers and ensuring that both passengers and fellow road users feel safe during the journey.

The position includes responsibility for adhering to the bus line's schedule, as well as handling situations that arise if weather or traffic causes problems. You will manage ticket sales on board.

The position is full-time and is based in Burträsk. The job has a rolling schedule with both day and evening shifts over 8 weeks, as well as weekend work every 4th week. One week includes school driving in the schedule. Upon hiring, Skellefteå Buss applies a 6-month probationary period that then transitions to a permanent position.

Qualifications

To work as a bus driver with us, a D driver's license and a valid professional driver competence certificate (YKB) are required. The position requires you to be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. Since the role of bus driver places high demands on service level, we are looking for someone with a pleasant and professional demeanor who is welcoming and helpful to others. You are punctual and have the ability to work calmly and efficiently even in stressful situations.

Since the position includes school driving, a criminal record extract is also required.
